macOS VPN Setup Guide
Configure your MoreVPN dedicated IP on Mac. WireGuard is recommended for speed and simplicity, while OpenVPN and L2TP/IPsec are also available.
1. WireGuard (Recommended)
Step 2 Open WireGuard and click Import tunnel(s) from file.
Step 3 Select the .conf file from your order email.
Step 4 Click Activate to connect. No username or password needed.
2. OpenVPN
Step 2 Open OpenVPN Connect, click File, and select the .ovpn file from your order email.
Step 3 Click Add, enter credentials if prompted, then connect.
3. L2TP/IPsec (Built-in macOS client)
Step 1 Open System Settings → VPN.
Step 2 Click Add VPN Configuration and choose L2TP over IPsec.
Step 3 Display name: MoreVPN. Server Address: enter your assigned IP from the order email.
Step 4 Account Name: [your username]. Password: [your password].
Step 5 Shared Secret: morevpn. Save the configuration and connect.
4. Set MoreVPN service order priority
If macOS has several network services, move the MoreVPN service above Wi-Fi or Ethernet so the VPN is preferred when it is connected.
macOS Ventura or newer
Step 1 Open System Settings → Network.
Step 2 Click the action menu, usually shown as ••• or a gear/action button, then choose Set Service Order.
Step 3 Drag MoreVPN above Wi-Fi and Ethernet, then click OK or Apply.
macOS Monterey or older
Step 1 Open System Preferences → Network.
Step 2 Click the gear icon below the service list and choose Set Service Order....
Step 3 Drag MoreVPN above Wi-Fi and Ethernet, then click OK and Apply.
Keep Wi-Fi or Ethernet enabled. Service order does not replace your internet connection; it only controls which network service macOS prefers when the VPN is active.
On newer macOS versions, VPN entries may be managed separately from Wi-Fi and Ethernet. If MoreVPN does not appear in Set Service Order, connect it from System Settings → VPN; macOS gives active VPN connections priority over normal network services.
